nErDcampMI 2019 is July 8 and 9!
nErDcampMI 7.0
If you've never attended nErDcamp before, let us do our best to describe what you might be able to expect!
Day 1 is much like a traditional education conference. We have scheduled speakers to get you all fired up about teaching reading and writing in the classroom. For more specifics on day 1, please visit the page by clicking the link to your left.
Day 2 of nErDcamp is designed differently than your typical conference. It's an (un)conference with a focus on literacy in learning. That's literacy in every and all areas -- science and math, we're talking to you too!
When you arrive on the morning of Day 2, you'll have an hour to meet with other teachers, drink coffee (or tea, or Diet Coke...we're not here to judge), and chat. A large (and blank) "session board" will be displayed in a conspicuous area. You might post a topic you'd be interested in leading a session on. Or you might just watch as session titles begin to go up and think about which ones sound like they might be worth attending.
There will be 4 hour-long sessions during Day 2. If you go to a session and it isn't exactly what you were hoping for, simply get up and move to another one. Edcampers call this "voting with your feet".
You'll meet some awesome people. You'll learn some amazing things from them. You'll have the opportunity to share what you're passionate about with others.
In short, it's gonna flat out rock.
