We are super excited to welcome Matt Faulkner back for another year at Nerd Camp. Last year Matt led sessions with kids during Nerd Camp Junior, led sessions with adults during Nerd Camp, and he spent some time in the lobby painting. Matt's passion for reading and books has us excited about his decision to join us for camp again this year. |

Louise Borden has been to each and every Nerd Camp Michigan that we have hosted, and we are excited to announce that she'll be joining us again this summer.
Huzzah, huzzah! We are excited to announce that the lovely and talented Nancy Cavanaugh will be joining us again for Nerd Camp.
Huzzah! We are so excited to announce that Jess Keating will be joining us again for Nerd Camp and Nerd Camp Junior. On Monday Jess will be a part of an author panel and on Tuesday she'll work with kids during the junior portion of camp.
We are excited to announce that the Caldecott winning husband and wife team of Erin and Philip Stead will be joining us for day one of Nerd Camp this summer.
They will be participating in a picture book panel. Macmillan has provided us with a sneak peak at their forthcoming picture book Lenny & Lucy. Laurie Keller has attended both Michigan Nerd Camps, and we are excited to announce that Laurie will be joining us once again as a Nerd Camp Junior author.
If you're a Nerdy Book Clubber - even if you're new - you KNOW this person and at least some of the incredible contributions she has made to the world of reading. You probably know that without this person Nerdy Book Club wouldn't exist, let alone nErDCampMI (and others that are popping up)! Hopefully, you have also read at least one of her books (and if you're like me, it totally changed your teaching life) and had the opportunity to meet her, hear her speak, read her tweets, blog posts, and so on and so on. Donalyn Miller has changed the lives of thousands of people. Through her practical strategies, advice, and encouragement, she has altered the way many classrooms (the teachers who run them) operate, and in doing so, has given kids the chance to LOVE reading. She has so much knowledge, delivers so many resources, and challenges thinking in a wonderful way. Plus that, she's just an all-around terrific person! We are truly fortunate to have her with us (and she's bringing family, too!) once again at nErDCampMI. You'll be able to attend her Day One session if you choose, hear her in a NerdTalk that same day, and pick her brain during Day Two. By the time you are traveling home, you will be full of more information than you'll know what to do with! (Yeah, I know I ended with a preposition...) Oh, and if you haven't read one of her books, it would be a great goal to set! And get it done before nErDCampMI, too! :)
